Breast and Cervical Health Check
Description
The Alaska Breast and Cervical Health Check (BCHC) program provides breast and cervical cancer screening to women ages 21 to 64 who meet certain income guidelines, who do not have insurance, cannot meet their deductible or whose insurance does not pay for BCHC services. If you are screened and diagnosed with cancer through the Alaska BCHC program, you may be eligible to have your treatment paid for by Medicaid.
Services
BCHC providers offer clinical breast exams, pelvic exams, and Pap tests to women 21 to 64 years of age and screening mammograms for women 50 - 64 years of age. If any of these screening exams are abnormal, BCHC also provides diagnostic testing to rule out other problems, including cancer.
